Lisa Wedeen is the Mary R. Morton Professor of Political Science and the College. Wedeen specializes in comparative politics, the Middle East, political theory, feminist theory, and qualitative methods. In addition to various articles, Wedeen is the author of Ambiguities of Domination: Politics, Rhetoric and Symbols in Contemporary Syria (Chicago: University of Chicago Press, 1999) and PERIPHERAL VISIONS: Publics, Power, and Performance in Yemen (Chicago: University of Chicago Press, 2008).
