Political Science Day is an occasion for prospective PhD students to meet with faculty and current graduate students in the Department, to discuss the degree program, and to learn more about the Department of Political Science and the University of Chicago.

Dates: April 2, 2020.

Invitations: Sent in early February.

Schedule: The schedule for Political Science Day includes group events and individual meetings with faculty.

Travel information: Invited applicants are reimbursed up to $500 for transportation costs. Reimbursement requests for 2020 must be submitted to the department by April 1, 2020. Allowable expenses include air, rail, and bus tickets, car mileage, and taxi and ride share expenses. The department can purchase your air ticket in advance. To use this option, you will need to send your flight request to Kathy Anderson (kanders@uchicago.edu) by no later than March 13, 2020.

We recommend using the College Admissions page for direction to Campus whether you are flying, driving, or taking public transportation. Given the choice, we suggest flying to Midway but both Midway and O’Hare airports are reasonable distances from campus. While on campus, our visiting students can utilize the Ugo NightRide Shuttle System for getting around Hyde Park.

Lodging: The department provides lodging with current students for Wednesday and Thursday nights. Please indicate your lodging needs in the RSVP form you’ve received with your invitation.
