I am primarily a historian of political thought, with broader research interests in the history and political theory of empire, the history of international law, and the historical influence of Greek and Roman ideas on early modern political thought. Before coming to the University of Chicago, I completed my BA in Political Science at U.C. Berkeley in 2020.

My PhD research investigates how sixteenth century Spanish-Catholic political thought influenced the ideological justifications for British colonialism in the Americas during the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.
