
Luke Cain is a 1st year Ph.D. candidate in Political Science at the University of Chicago. His primary interests are in US bureaucratic governance, discretion, and delegation. Luke's approach is generally empirical and quantitative, but draws from multiple strains of social science. He also works as a departmental steward, ensuring his peers find success in their academic roles.
Luke has a special interest in the US Federal Reserve, having worked at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago for two years before beginning Ph.D. studies. There, Luke's role was primarily in monetary policy communication and co-authored work on economic forecasting, immigration, and racial disparity.
Luke completed his undergraduate education at the University of North Carolina, earning a B.A. in Political Science and a B.S. in Economics.
