Marshall Pierce is a PhD student in political theory. His work—broadly influenced by contemporary theoretical traditions of the French and German Left—focuses on state power and instances of its subversion. More narrowly, he is concerned with the conditions under which individuals and groups turn away from state institutions, and the forms of politics and community generated thereby. He has ancillary interests in the history and historiography of political thought and modernity.
